Qatari Search and Rescue Team Deploys to Venezuela Following Earthquake Crisis

Doha: The Qatari International Search and Rescue Group of the Internal Security Force, known as Lekhwiya, has arrived in Venezuela to assist with search and rescue operations after two significant earthquakes struck the capital city of Caracas. The deployment is part of an international effort to aid the affected areas.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Qatari team is composed of certified specialists in Urban Search and Rescue (USAR), equipped with advanced technical equipment designed to manage collapsed structures and locate missing individuals. Accompanying them are medical professional teams and field hospitals, prepared to deliver urgent health care to those injured in the disaster.

Additionally, humanitarian aid from Qatar has reached Venezuela via an air bridge initiative operated by the State of Qatar. This aid includes food, medicines, medical supplies, and advanced shelter materials, all provided by the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD). These resources aim to bolster the humanitarian response efforts and alleviate the suffering of the populations impacted by the earthquakes.

This initiative reflects the State of Qatar's commitment to supporting brotherly and friendly nations, extending its humanitarian approach to participate in international efforts that address and respond to crises and disasters promptly.
