Paris: The editorials of Qatari newspapers on Friday shed light on the growing strength and strategic depth of Qatari-French relations, which have witnessed a remarkable transformation in recent years. This qualitative leap in cooperation, they noted, stems from the shared commitment of both nations to elevate their partnership to a level of strategic integration across political, economic, cultural, and security domains.
According to Qatar News Agency, the over fifty-year-old bilateral relationship has recently entered a new era, characterized by robust political alignment and a mutual desire to advance regional and international stability. In this context, Paris hosted the third session of the Annual Qatar-France Strategic Dialogue, reflecting the strong will of both countries to deepen their strategic ties.
Under the headline “Qatar and France: A New Era of Partnership,” Al-Raya newspaper underscored the significance of holding the Annual Strategic Dialogue in the French capital, viewing it as a testament to the enduring and evolving nature of the Qatari-French alliance. The paper highlighted the statement of HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, who affirmed that the dialogue reflects the strength of the bilateral relationship, founded on mutual trust, cooperation, and a shared vision for peace and stability.
Al-Raya further reported that the discussions between the two sides covered ways to expand bilateral cooperation and reviewed pressing regional and international developments, particularly the situation in Palestine. The newspaper noted that Doha and Paris are actively engaged in diplomatic efforts to halt the ongoing war in Gaza and reaffirmed their support for the establishment of a Palestinian state. It also referenced the upcoming high-level international conference on the peaceful settlement of the Palestinian issue, scheduled for June in New York, as a critical step supported by both capitals.
The editorial concluded that the third Annual Strategic Dialogue marked the beginning of a new chapter in Qatari-French relations and injected renewed momentum into their comprehensive partnership. The paper noted that Qatar and France continue to align their political positions and aim to broaden cooperation across all sectors, building on a long-standing legacy of trust and shared strategic interests.
In a similar vein, Al-Sharq newspaper, in its editorial titled “Doha and Paris: Stronger Strategic Relations,” highlighted that the Strategic Dialogue reflects the depth and continuity of relations between Qatar and France. It described the Dialogue as a cornerstone of bilateral ties, facilitating regular exchanges of views and policy coordination on major global issues.
Al-Sharq emphasized that the Annual Strategic Dialogue serves as a structured platform to explore avenues for deeper cooperation, while also enhancing alignment on regional and international challenges. The paper praised the consistency of Doha and Paris in working collaboratively to promote peace and security in the Middle East and beyond. The editorial concluded by affirming that this ongoing strategic partnership is a pivotal force in confronting regional challenges, strengthening global cooperation, and reinforcing international stability.
