Qatari Foreign Minister Joins GCC Virtual Consultative Meeting

Doha: Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, participated today in a consultative meeting held by the foreign ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries via video conference. According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the meeting provided a platform for the exchange of views on the current stage's developments, ongoing negotiations, and efforts aimed at reducing tensions and enhancing regional security and stability. Key discussions included intensifying coordination and consultation among GCC countries on issues related to freedom of navigation and safety in the Strait of Hormuz. This aims to ensure the rights of passage and smooth flow of ships, trade, and supplies in line with international law, while preserving the sovereign rights of countries bordering the Gulf waters. The foreign ministers emphasized the importance of continuing joint efforts, prioritizing political and diplomatic solutions, and fostering an environme nt conducive to building trust and reaching consensus on issues of mutual concern.
