Doha: In their editorial on Thursday, Qatari newspapers highlighted the trilateral meeting held by the State of Qatar in Doha on Tuesday. The meeting was attended by HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, HE President of the Republic of Rwanda Paul Kagame, and HE President of the Democratic Republic of Congo Felix Tshisekedi Tshilombo. The meeting was part of efforts to ease the situation in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.
According to Qatar News Agency, the newspapers also noted Qatar’s strong condemnation of the Israeli occupation’s resumption of aggression against the Gaza Strip. The editorials described this as a blatant challenge to the international will supporting peace, as well as the ceasefire agreement.
In its editorial, Al-Watan newspaper emphasized that the State of Qatar has emerged as an active global player in easing conflicts and finding solutions to many regional and international crises through skilled negotiation management. It noted Qatar’s significant successful experiences in complex mediation files. The newspaper highlighted the trilateral meeting in Doha, where the Heads of State agreed on the need to continue discussions initiated in Doha to establish solid foundations for lasting peace as envisioned in the Luanda/Nairobi process.
Al-Watan concluded by reaffirming Qatar’s path to supporting international peace and security and continuing its role as a peacemaker.
Meanwhile, Al-Raya newspaper emphasized in its editorial that the Israeli occupation government’s decision to resume aggression against the Palestinian people in Gaza is a continuation of genocide crimes. The newspaper argued that these actions aim to prolong the occupation’s existence despite internal crises while evading commitments of the ceasefire agreement.
The newspaper noted Qatar’s strongest condemnation of the Israeli occupation’s resumption of aggression on the Gaza Strip. It called this a blatant challenge to the international will supporting peace, as well as the ceasefire agreement. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs warns that the occupation’s escalating policies will ultimately ignite the region and undermine its security and stability.
Al-Raya also emphasized Qatar’s call for the resumption of dialogue to implement the phases of the ceasefire agreement and ultimately bring an end to the war on the Gaza Strip.
