Doha: Qatari newspaper editorials have recently highlighted the launch of the Ministry of Transport Strategy for 2025-2030, under the slogan “Reaching Beyond Horizons.” This strategy is described as an ambitious roadmap for developing the transportation sector in Qatar, strengthening its role in supporting economic growth, fostering sustainability, and driving innovation.
According to Qatar News Agency, the newspapers emphasized that this strategy will lay the foundation for a new phase in the development of Qatar’s transportation sector. The plan aims to establish an integrated, safe, flexible, and sustainable transport system, setting Qatar on a path to becoming a global leader in logistics performance, digital transformation, and smart transport innovation.
In its editorial, Al-Arab newspaper stated that the strategy reflects Qatar’s ambition to align with global transformations and enhance its regional and international standing in the transport and logistics sector. The Ministry of Transport’s strategy for 2025-2030, launched under the slogan “Reaching Beyond Horizons,” aims to develop transport infrastructure, adopt the latest smart technologies, and enhance service efficiency in alignment with the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030, particularly promoting sustainability and supporting the national economy.
The newspaper noted that the strategy stems from Qatar National Vision 2030 and aligns with efforts to achieve the goals of the Third National Development Strategy (2024-2030). It aims to develop world-class infrastructure that places Qatar at the forefront of global rankings in logistics performance, digital transformation, and smart transport innovation.
Al-Arab concluded by stating that the Ministry of Transport Strategy represents a qualitative leap towards a more sustainable and efficient future, where modern infrastructure integrates with innovative digital solutions for a safe and seamless transport experience.
In turn, Al-Raya newspaper highlighted the significant transformation in Qatar’s transport sector, aligning with the country’s comprehensive development and sustainable energy goals. The strategy was inaugurated by HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, emphasizing Qatar’s commitment to advanced and efficient transport systems.
The newspaper noted Qatar’s recognition that true development requires an advanced transport sector, with a modern network and advanced fleets ensuring smooth traffic and logistical efficiency. Al-Raya concluded by affirming that the new strategy will propel the transport sector to advanced stages, focusing on reducing carbon emissions and providing innovative digital services. The strategy includes 125 projects from 42 initiatives, with investments exceeding 1.2 billion Qatari riyals.
