Doha: The Qatar Stock Exchange index began trading on a lower note on Sunday, decreasing by 0.38 percent. This decline saw the index shedding 39.49 points to reach 10,446 points compared to the previous session's close, primarily influenced by downturns in five sectors. According to Qatar News Agency, the figures from the Qatar Stock Exchange highlighted a positive performance in the insurance sector, which increased by 0.51 percent, and the transport sector, which rose by 0.36 percent. However, there was a negative trend in other sectors: the telecommunications sector fell by 0.02 percent, the industrial sector by 0.23 percent, the real estate sector by 0.36 percent, the banking and financial services sector by 0.60 percent, and the consumer goods and services sector by 0.66 percent. At 10:00 a.m., trading activities on the Qatar Stock Exchange amounted to QR 69.050 million, with 31.545 million shares being exchanged through 3,285 transactions.
