Doha: The Qatar Society of Engineers, in collaboration with the Ministry of Sports and Youth’s Qatar Scientific Club, successfully concluded the 2025 Summer STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Program. The closing ceremony was a momentous occasion, honoring the young Qatari men and women who participated, along with the training, organizational, and volunteer teams. The event was graced by the presence of HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Sports and Youth Yasser bin Abdullah Al-Jamal and several leaders from both institutions.
According to Qatar News Agency, Chairperson of the Qatar Society of Engineers, Engineer Amna Mohammed Al Naama, praised the program as a pioneering initiative in implementing innovative youth projects. This initiative, offered in collaboration with the Qatar Scientific Club and supervised by the Ministry of Social Development and Family, marks the first of its kind. Al Naama emphasized that the program transcends a mere summer activity, positioning itself as a journey of exploration and creativity. It aims to empower the youth with scientific knowledge and practical applications, aligning with Qatar National Vision 2030 by fostering a generation capable of thinking, innovating, and leading the future.
Meanwhile, Deputy Executive Director of the Qatar Scientific Club, Engineer Abdulrahman Saleh Khamis, highlighted that the program specifically targets pre-university students. This focus provides a significant guiding experience toward scientific and engineering disciplines. Engineer Nadia Al Owainati, a member of the Qatar Society of Engineers and the judging panel, described the program as exceptional and reaffirmed the Society’s commitment to continuing such initiatives.
Adding to the sentiments, Nada Abduljalil Al Mahmeed from the National Planning Council noted that the strong participation reflects the organizing bodies’ commitment to supporting the Third National Development Strategy and Qatar National Vision 2030. Furthermore, Engineer Hamad Abdullah Al Ashraf, another member of the Qatar Society of Engineers, underscored the importance of raising awareness about cybersecurity within youth education programs.
The ceremony culminated with the announcement of winning projects in various fields, evaluated by a specialized panel of judges. This recognition highlights the program’s success in nurturing young talent and promoting innovative thinking among Qatar’s youth.
