New york: The State of Qatar delivered a message on Wednesday to HE the Secretary-General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres and to HE Sangjin Kim, the Charge d’Affaires at the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Korea to the United Nations and President of the Security Council for September. The message addressed the Israeli attack on residential buildings in Doha that housed several members of the Hamas Political Bureau.
According to Qatar News Agency, the message was conveyed by HE Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani. Qatar requested that the message be circulated among Security Council members and issued as an official document, cataloged under number S/2025/563.
In its message, Qatar expressed condemnation of the attack, labeling it a violation of international laws and norms and a threat to the safety of Qataris and residents. The State highlighted the immediate response from security, civil defense, and other relevant authorities to contain the incident and ensure safety.
Qatar emphasized its stance against this Israeli action, noting that it will not tolerate threats to regional security or its sovereignty. Investigations are ongoing, and further information will be released as it becomes available.
