Qatar Participates in GCC Hajj Mission Chiefs Meeting to Enhance Pilgrim Services

Makkah Al Mukarramah: The State of Qatar took part in the annual meeting of the heads of Hajj affairs offices of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, which was held at the headquarters of Kuwait’s Hajj affairs office in Makkah Al Mukarramah. The primary objective of the meeting was to bolster cooperation and coordination among GCC nations in their service to pilgrims.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Qatari Hajj affairs office’s delegation was led by Deputy Head of the Qatari Hajj Mission, Ali bin Sultan Al Misifri, and included several mission officials. The meeting focused on crucial topics related to the Hajj season, such as exchanging best practices among the GCC missions and discussing ways to enhance performance and improve the quality of services offered to pilgrims.

Al Misifri stated that Qatar’s participation is in line with the directives of the country’s leadership, which prioritizes facilitating Hajj and supporting collective Gulf efforts to elevate service quality. He highlighted the Qatari mission’s dedication to maintaining continuous coordination with fellow GCC missions and sharing both organizational and on-the-ground experiences to ensure optimal service delivery.

He expressed gratitude to the Kuwaiti Hajj mission for organizing the annual meeting and praised the efforts to strengthen regional collaboration. Al Misifri also extended thanks to Saudi Arabia for its comprehensive services and support for pilgrims, commending the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah for its effective coordination with GCC Hajj offices. He noted that these efforts have resulted in smoother procedures, faster processing, and improved service quality, enabling Gulf pilgrims to perform Hajj under ideal conditions.

Dr. Bader Hajar Al Mutairi, head of the Kuwaiti Hajj mission, remarked that the meeting underscores the unity and Islamic solidarity among Gulf states and aims to enhance pilgrim services through shared cooperation and insights. He emphasized the significance of each mission learning from others’ experiences to adopt best practices that ensure pilgrims’ comfort and peace of mind.

Dr. Al Mutairi stressed that the annual meetings are a crucial platform for consultation and the presentation of new proposals to advance the work system and achieve Gulf integration, which will positively affect the Hajj experience for all GCC countries.
