Qatar Intercepts 18 Iranian Missiles Targeting U.S. Airbase, One Missile Hits Without Damage

Doha: Qatars air defence systems successfully intercepted 18 out of 19 Iranian ballistic missiles aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, which hosts U.S. forces, as announced by the Qatari Ministry of Defence. Despite one missile reaching the base, it resulted in no casualties or material damage.

According to Nam News Network, Shayeq Al-Hajri, the deputy chief of Joint Operations, clarified in a press conference that the missiles were launched in two separate waves. The intercepted missiles were neutralized over the sea after breaching Qatari airspace.

“We received intelligence earlier in the day indicating a threat to several regional military installations, including Al Udeid,” Al-Hajri stated. He underscored Qatar’s military preparedness, emphasizing that the nation’s defensive capabilities extend beyond what was displayed in the recent incident.
