Qatar Hosts High-Level Events and Strengthens International Relations

Doha: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani met with the Qatar national football team players at the Lusail Palace on Wednesday, celebrating their qualification for the FIFA World Cup 2026.

According to Qatar News Agency, HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation, marked the 15th anniversary of HEC Paris, Doha, at the Museum of Islamic Art. Furthermore, HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, presided over the Cabinet’s regular meeting at the Amiri Diwan.

The high-level preparatory meeting for the 6th session of the Islamic Conference of Labour Ministers (ICLM) commenced under the patronage of the Prime Minister, focusing on labor issues across the Islamic world. The meeting is set to continue in Doha, emphasizing local experiences and global achievements.

HE Minister of Public Health Mansoor bin Ebrahim bin Saad Al Mahmoud highlighted Qatar’s commitment to eradicating polio, declaring it an urgent global health priority. Meanwhile, HE Minister of Finance Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari engaged in discussions with Turkish and IDB officials in Washington during the IMF and World Bank Group’s Annual Meetings.

In Doha, HE Minister of Labour Dr. Ali bin Samikh Al Marri held bilateral meetings with various ministers attending the ICLM session. Additionally, HE Minister of State for International Cooperation Dr. Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad reiterated Qatar’s dedication to global health equity at the Doha Global South Health Policy Initiative’s annual meeting.

On the sidelines of the NAM Mid-Term Ministerial Meeting in Kampala, HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi met with Philippine officials to discuss international economic relations. Meanwhile, HE Director-General of Qatar News Agency Ahmed bin Saeed Al Rumaihi met with the Gambian Ambassador to Qatar to bolster media relations.

In another development, HE Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai met with Canada’s Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation to explore bilateral cooperation in digital transformation. The fifth session of the Qatar-Tajikistan Joint Committee on Economic, Commercial, and Technical Cooperation was held in Dushanbe, strengthening ties between the two nations.

Qatar signed an agreement with the World Bank Group to establish a regional office in Doha, enhancing Qatar’s role in regional development. The State also participated in the Arab Ministers of Finance meeting with the World Bank Group President in Washington, affirming its engagement in international financial dialogues.

Additionally, Qatar took part in the midterm ministerial meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement in Kampala and attended the GCC Committees of Undersecretaries of Commerce and Industry’s preparatory meetings in Kuwait. Qatar is also actively participating in the 72nd session of the WHO Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean in Cairo, showcasing its commitment to regional health initiatives.
