Doha: Qatar Foundation will host its inaugural Back-to-School Sports Fair on September 13, providing community members the opportunity to explore programs, memberships, and facilities across Education City, including a new addition to its sporting scene.
According to Qatar News Agency, more than 20 professional and community-based sports and fitness providers will host booths, showcasing inclusive programs and demonstrations for all ages and abilities. Offerings will include ladies-only fitness sessions, family-friendly activities, and options tailored for persons with disabilities.
Attendees will have the opportunity to explore Education City’s world-class recreation venues, including Olympic-sized swimming pools, multi-purpose halls, and elite training gyms. Information on daily and long-term access options will also be available. An Education City booth will provide guidance on booking procedures, memberships, activity schedules, upcoming events, and venue accessibility.
The Back-to-School Sports Fair will feature the official opening of Qatar Foundation’s newly upgraded Pitch No. 4, a FIFA-certified 9-a-side artificial turf facility designed for enhanced durability and year-round playability for women’s and men’s teams. To mark the inauguration, a friendly match between six teams from PSG Academy Qatar’s Girls, from categories U12 to U17, will take place.
Kholoud M. Al Ali, Executive Director of Community Engagement and Programming, Qatar Foundation Communication Initiatives, emphasized the organization’s commitment to providing the best activities, facilities, and opportunities for the community. Didier Domi, PSG Academy Technical Advisor and former Paris Saint-Germain professional player, highlighted the role of football in bringing communities together and inspiring young people, reflecting a shared commitment to education and opportunity.
