Qatar Engages in High-Level Discussions on Irregular Migration in Rome

Rome: The State of Qatar participated in a high-level meeting focusing on combating irregular migration, which took place in Rome. Key participants included representatives from the Italian Republic, the Republic of Turkiye, and the State of Libya.

According to Qatar News Agency, Qatar's delegation was led by HE Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi. The meeting centered on reviewing the latest developments in irregular migration and exploring ways to enhance cooperation and coordination among the participating countries. Discussions covered strengthening international coordination, exchanging expertise, and building capacity to address the challenges of irregular migration. Additionally, the meeting examined mechanisms to support regional and international efforts aimed at reducing the flow of irregular migration.

HE the Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated Qatar's commitment to supporting both international and regional initiatives to tackle irregular migration. He emphasized the importance of joint cooperation and coordination in addressing these challenges, ensuring that actions are in line with humanitarian principles and international law. The aim is to contribute to security, stability, and development for the countries and societies concerned.
