Qatar Engages in GCC Transport Undersecretaries’ Discussions in Kuwait

Doha: The State of Qatar took part in the 27th Meeting of the Undersecretaries of the Ministries of Transport of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC), which convened in Kuwait. Leading the Qatari delegation was HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Ibrahim Al Maadheed.

According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting addressed topics aimed at bolstering GCC cooperation in the transport sector. Discussions included the activities of the GCC Railways Authority, the latest developments in the GCC Railway Project, and the land transportation strategy. Participants also reviewed recommended amendments to the GCC uniform system for universal land transportation and its implementing regulations. Additionally, the meeting covered the rules and controls regarding the entry of conventional merchant ships into GCC waters and ports, along with the capacity of quays to accommodate such vessels.

Several other topics were on the agenda, with the preparation of necessary recommendations to be submitted to the upcoming meeting of Their Excellencies the GCC Ministers of Transport.
