Qatar Engages in GCC Meeting to Advance Environmental Strategies Across Member Nations

Riyadh: The State of Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MECC), participated in a working group meeting focused on drafting a report about implementing environmental directives in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. The meeting was held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

According to Qatar News Agency, Khaled Jumaa Al Mahmadi, Director of the Wildlife Development Department, represented Qatar’s MECC at the meeting. The gathering aimed to enhance Gulf regional cooperation by discussing current environmental requirements, future implementation plans, and integrating feedback from Qatar and Oman into the comprehensive report.

The MECC emphasized Qatar’s ongoing commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as part of the Qatar National Vision 2030. This involves executing practical policies and initiatives that contribute to environmental protection, resource conservation, and fostering balanced development for the welfare of both present and future generations.

Qatar’s participation highlights its dedication to supporting collective GCC efforts in environmental protection and sustainability, aligning with the national development strategies and visions of the GCC countries. The meeting also contributes to the advancement of integrated environmental initiatives designed to address current and future challenges effectively.
