Qatar Engages in EU-Led Ministerial Meeting on Sudan De-escalation

New york: The State of Qatar actively participated in a ministerial meeting titled 'Joint Efforts for De-escalation in Sudan,' organized by the European Union. This event took place on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

According to Qatar News Agency, Qatar was represented by HE Minister of State for International Cooperation Dr. Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad. During the meeting, Dr. Al Misnad reaffirmed Qatar's unwavering support for the people of Sudan, emphasizing respect for Sudan's sovereignty and unity, and underscoring the importance of preserving its territorial integrity.

Dr. Al Misnad also reiterated Qatar's commitment to supporting Sudan through initiatives aimed at protecting women in conflict zones. Qatar has previously pledged $10 million towards this cause, alongside providing medical and food aid to support the needs of the Sudanese people.
