Qatar, Egypt Sign MoU to Strengthen Health Sector Cooperation

Cairo: The State of Qatar and the Arab Republic of Egypt have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at bolstering cooperation in the health sector. The MoU was inked by HE Minister of Public Health Mansoor bin Ebrahim Al Mahmoud and Egypt’s HE Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population, Dr. Khalid Atef Abdel Ghaffar.

According to Qatar News Agency, the signing ceremony was attended by HE Prime Minister of the Arab Republic of Egypt Dr. Mostafa Madbouly. The MoU seeks to foster collaboration in public health and medical sciences, enhance healthcare systems, facilitate the exchange of expertise, train medical personnel, and improve food safety standards between the two nations.

A delegation from Qatar, led by HE the Minister of Public Health, is actively participating in the seventy-second session of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean. This event, themed ‘Together for a Healthier Future: Action. Access. Equity.’, is taking place in Cairo from October 15 to 17.
