Doha: Qatar Chamber (QC) hosted a delegation from the Turkish Industry and Business Association (TUSIAD) on Monday. The meeting was led by HE First Vice-Chairman of Qatar Chamber, Mohamed bin Twar Al Kuwari, and TUSIAD board member, Cagatay Ozdoru.
According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting was attended by HE Second Vice-Chairman of QC Rashid bin Hamad Al Athba, and board members Dr Mohamed bin Jawhar Al Mohamed and Shaheen bin Mohamed Al Mohannadi. Discussions focused on trade and economic relations between Qatar and Turkiye, reviewing key areas of cooperation between the private sectors of both countries, and highlighting investment opportunities available.
Mohamed bin Twar emphasized the strong economic ties between Qatar and Turkiye, noting the rapid growth in bilateral relations supported by mutual visits of leaders and officials. He mentioned that Turkiye is a significant trading partner, with trade volume reaching QAR 4.5 billion last year. He also highlighted the presence of Turkish companies in Qatar across various sectors and the expanding Qatari investments in Turkiye.
Cagatay Ozdoru expressed appreciation for the close relations between the two countries and noted TUSIAD’s role as a key business organization in Turkiye. He stressed the interest in forming commercial alliances with Qatari companies and mentioned TUSIAD as a resource for Qatari investors seeking opportunities in Turkiye. He also suggested organizing a Qatari business delegation visit to Turkiye.
QC Second Vice-Chairman Rashid bin Hamad Al Athba highlighted the substantial investments made by Qatari investors in Turkiye and the potential for further expansion. He also pointed out the investment opportunities in Qatar for Turkish businesspeople, supported by the country’s incentives for foreign investments.
The meeting concluded with a discussion session between business representatives from both sides, exploring prospects for future cooperation and investment opportunities in Qatar and Turkiye.
