Doha: Al-Watan newspaper highlighted the strong condemnation and deep concern expressed by the foreign ministries of the State of Qatar and 13 Arab and Islamic countries, as well as the Gulf Cooperation Council, the Arab League, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, over the statements made by the United States Ambassador to Israel.
According to Qatar News Agency, the newspaper editorial stated that the ambassador's remarks not only violate international law and norms but also provide the occupation with justification to continue its crimes in the occupied Palestinian territories and other Arab countries. The editorial pointed out that this position is perplexing, especially since the US ambassador's comments directly contradict the vision put forward by US President Donald Trump, as well as the broader plan to end the conflict in Gaza. This plan is based on containing escalation and creating a political horizon for a comprehensive settlement that would guarantee the Palestinian people the establishment of an independent state.
Al-Watan further argued that the ambassador's remarks cannot be regarded as a personal opinion given his official position. It added that the United States must adopt a clear stance supporting the Palestinian people's right to establish an independent state along the June 4, 1967 lines and work toward achieving that goal.
In a separate report, The Peninsula praised Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) for its significant strategic and operational achievements in 2025. The newspaper noted that Kahramaa has accelerated digital transformation, strengthened governance, and advanced sustainability in line with Qatar National Vision 2030, reinforcing the resilience of the country's electricity and water sectors.
The Peninsula highlighted the progress made in enhancing electricity and water security through integrated planning, institutional readiness, and cross-sector coordination. These achievements are seen as laying the groundwork for Kahramaa's long-term strategy up to 2030, which aims to build a smarter, more resilient, and sustainable national utility ecosystem.
In another local matter, Al-Arab newspaper commended the efforts of the Qatar Society for Rehabilitation of Special Needs in caring for and empowering people with disabilities. The paper emphasized the Society's commitment to providing the greatest possible care, empowerment, and independence to ensure social integration for individuals with disabilities.
Al-Arab detailed the Society's work through its four centers, which offer training and rehabilitation programs for diverse groups, including those with intellectual disabilities, autism, and Down syndrome. The newspaper concluded by highlighting the Society's commitment to psychological care, guidance programs, and community awareness initiatives that support people with disabilities and improve their living conditions.
