New york: The State of Qatar participated in the meeting of the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, held on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. Qatar was represented by HE Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi.
According to Qatar News Agency, His Excellency emphasized that the meeting occurred amidst international momentum, which reflects a broad consensus of solidarity and support for the Palestinian people and their cause. He noted that while Qatar welcomed this consensus, it would remain incomplete without exerting pressure on Israel to end the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip, stop attempts at forcible displacement, and avoid grave regional repercussions.
His Excellency highlighted the necessity to halt human rights violations in the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and other occupied territories. He stressed the importance of guaranteeing humanitarian relief and reconstruction, while laying the foundations for an independent State of Palestine in line with international law and UN resolutions.
HE Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs underscored the coalition's role in rallying global support for the full implementation of the New York Declaration. This includes establishing an independent Palestinian state along the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, receiving international recognition and full UN membership.
His Excellency reaffirmed Qatar's belief that the Two-State Solution, supported by international consensus, mirrors the aspirations of people worldwide who value freedom and human rights, offering a genuine chance to achieve lasting peace and security in the Middle East.
