Palestinian President Warns of Danger of Israeli Decision to Reoccupy Gaza Strip

Doha: Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas warned, in a phone call Friday with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, of the danger of the Israeli decision to reoccupy the Gaza Strip and displace its population to the south. He considered it a new crime in the series of crimes committed by the occupation in the West Bank and Jerusalem, and that it must be stopped immediately.

According to Qatar News Agency, during the call, Abbas affirmed that he will continue political action at all levels, including addressing the UN Security Council, the European Union (EU), the Arab League, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), to mobilize international and regional positions against this plan.

He stressed the need to halt Israeli violations of international law, including settlement activity, annexation, colonial terrorism, and attacks on Islamic and Christian holy sites. He called on countries that have not yet recognized the State of Palestine to do so.
