Palestinian Premier Stresses Need for Intensified Int. Efforts to Open Crossings into Gaza, Allowing Aid

Gaza city: Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa Saturday highlighted the urgent need for intensified international pressure to have all border crossings into the Gaza Strip opened and allow the entry of humanitarian aid that meets critical needs and ends the rising hunger suffered in the Strip.

According to Qatar News Agency, this came during his meeting on Saturday with the new Special Representative and Deputy Special Representative of the Administrator for the Programme of Assistance to the Palestinian People (UNDP/PAPP) Jaco Cilliers. The Palestinian Premier stressed the importance of enhancing joint action together with various international relief organizations operating in Gaza and highlighted the government’s emergency operations room in coordinating relief efforts and ensuring a unified response to humanitarian needs.

Mustafa also discussed the importance of emergency interventions for families affected by ongoing Israeli settler and military attacks in the West Bank, including Jerusalem. He gave particular attention to the continuous assaults in the northern West Bank, where refugee camps are being demolished and infrastructure systematically destroyed by Israeli forces.
