Palestinian Martyred, Another Injured in Israeli Shelling of Beit Lahia in Northern Gaza

Gaza: Medical sources reported that a Palestinian was martyred and another was seriously injured in an Israeli artillery shelling of Beit Lahia, in northern Gaza, on Sunday.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Israeli occupation army continues its violations of the ceasefire agreement with airstrikes and artillery shelling on various areas of the Gaza Strip. The ongoing conflict has resulted in significant casualties and destruction across the region.

The death toll from the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip has risen to 72,027 martyrs and 171,561 wounded since October 7, 2023. This escalation has exacerbated the humanitarian crisis in the area, overwhelming medical facilities and causing widespread displacement.

The ceasefire agreement between Hamas and the Israeli occupation came into effect last October, following the withdrawal of occupation forces from populated areas in the Strip and the start of the return of displaced persons to the northern Gaza Strip. This agreement was part of the first phase of US President Donald Trump's initiative to end the war on Gaza. However, the recent shelling underscores the fragility of the ceasefire and the challenges in achieving long-term peace.
