Ramallah: The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday condemned the assault by Israeli settlers on a diplomatic vehicle transporting personnel from the Russian diplomatic mission, as well as the assault on a Dutch diplomatic vehicle carrying the Dutch ambassador and the political attache.
According to Qatar News Agency, these two assaults are unequivocally a flagrant breach of international norms and laws, particularly the Vienna Convention, and lay bare the arrogance and insurrection of the organized and armed colonial militias against any laws, as long as they make law unto themselves through the protection and support they receive from the political echelon in the occupation state, the ministry said in a statement.
The statement noted the daily threats and risks posed by the colonists to the Palestinians on the streets and in the Palestinian towns, which are evidently emboldened and overseen by the occupation army.
The ministry reiterated its call upon nations and the international community to take resolute positions and impose deterrent sanctions against the settler gangsters, in addition to practicing real pressures on the occupation state to be punished, dismantled, and drying up its sources of funding and lifting the protection granted to it.
