Doha: Pakistan activated its air defense systems Friday and deployed fighter jets near its nuclear facilities and on its border with Iran, following Israeli attacks on nuclear facilities inside Iranian territory, according to Pakistani officials.
According to Qatar News Agency, Pakistani authorities also increased security measures to protect the US Embassy in the capital, Islamabad, and US diplomatic consulates in other cities amid fears of violence or demonstrations.
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the Israeli attacks on Iran. Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar also expressed his solidarity with Iran, describing the Israeli attack as “unjustified” and a “blatant violation of Iran’s sovereignty.” In a post on the X platform, Ishaq Dar stressed that this “seriously undermines regional stability.”
