Zurich: FIFA has announced that over one million tickets have been sold for the 2026 World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico from June 11 to July 19, 2026.
According to Qatar News Agency, the tournament will be the first to feature 48 teams and be hosted by three nations. Fans from 212 countries and territories purchased tickets during the recent Visa pre-sale phase, with the host countries, England, Germany, and Brazil leading demand.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino called the milestone “a thrilling step” toward what he described as a “historic edition” of the tournament.
A new ticket draw phase opens on October 27, offering individual match tickets, stadium packages, and team-specific options. An official resale platform has also been launched to combat unauthorized ticket sales.
