One person killed and four others injured in a gas pipeline explosion in Istanbul

One person was killed and four others were injured today when a gas pipeline exploded on the outskirts of Istanbul.

Istanbul Governor Davut Gul said in a press statement that the explosion was caused by a natural gas leak in the Shirin Evlar area on the outskirts of Istanbul, and resulted in the death of one person, the injury of four others, and the occurrence of major destruction in one of the buildings near the site of the explosion, in addition to damage to other nearby buildings.

The Governor added that the rescue and ambulance teams rushed to the site immediately upon receiving the report and were able to evacuate the site and treat the injured in a short time. An immediate investigation was opened to find out the causes of the accident, determine its circumstances, and ensure that all preventive measures were implemented to avoid the recurrence of such incidents in the future.
