Oil Minister from India: Iraq is open to partners to develop the economic reality

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Oil Hayan Abdul Ghani met today with Indian Vice President Rohit Bansil

and the head of the Gulf Department at BU and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Awsaf Saeed, are in Delhi to discuss a number of important files that serve the Iraqi and Indian sides in the fields of oil, education, technology, and others.

Hayan said in a statement: "India is a developed country in many fields, and Iraq needs to develop prospects for cooperation with Delhi in all fields, whether oil or otherwise," noting: "The opening of joint cooperation between the two countries is a win for Baghdad, as is the case for Delhi."

He added, on the sidelines of his chairmanship of the joint Iraqi-Indian committee that holds its meetings in India: "Iraq is a country open to partners and wants to develop the oil, economic, educational and other fields, and therefore we affirm that we are ready to cooperate more with India in accordance with the interests of the two peoples."
