Doha: Norway announced Wednesday submitting a UN General Assembly resolution calling on Israel to lift aid restrictions on Gaza, following a ruling by the International Court of Justice. Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide said the move builds on Norway’s earlier request for the Court’s advisory opinion on Israel’s legal obligations.
According to Qatar News Agency, Norway led the UN initiative seeking an advisory opinion from the International Court of Justice on Israel’s legal duty to allow humanitarian aid into Gaza.
