NATO Secretary-General: We Take Drone Situation Very Seriously

Doha: NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte said Thursday that the alliance takes drone flights over Danish airports very seriously and is working to ensure the protection of its infrastructure. Rutte explained on the X platform that he spoke with Denmark's Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen about "the drone situation, which we take very seriously."

According to Qatar News Agency, "NATO allies and Denmark are working together on how we can ensure the safety and security of our critical infrastructure," Rutte added. Danish authorities announced on Thursday that Aalborg Airport, which is used for both commercial and military flights, was closed after drones were spotted in its airspace.

Two days earlier, the country's main airport, Copenhagen, was also shut due to drone sightings, raising security concerns across Europe.
