Brussels: NATO Foreign Ministers concluded their two-day meeting in Brussels today. During the closing press conference, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated that the discussions focused on Russian military operations in Ukraine, as well as issues related to cyber attacks and the use of energy as a weapon.
According to Qatar News Agency, NATO members emphasized the importance of closely working with the European Union on these matters, enhancing intelligence sharing, conducting more joint exercises, providing better protection for critical infrastructure, and improving cyber defense. The Secretary General also noted that NATO Foreign Ministers met with Jordan’s King Abdullah II to discuss the situation in the Middle East and the importance of closer cooperation between NATO and its regional partners.
He mentioned that NATO will soon open a liaison office in Amman to further strengthen ties with Jordan. Furthermore, Mark Rutte reaffirmed NATO’s commitment to its financial pledges for security assistance
and training for Ukraine in the state of Wiesbaden.
