Doha: HE President of the National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA), Eng. Abdulrahman Ali Muhammad Al Farahid Al Malki, emphasized to Qatar News Agency (QNA) that the National Day celebrations on December 18 serve as a significant occasion for citizens to reaffirm their dedication to the nation's progress and development.
According to Qatar News Agency, this year's National Day celebration follows a series of achievements by Qatar, enhancing its status regionally and globally across various sectors, including cybersecurity and digital transformation, in alignment with Qatar National Vision 2030, as stated by Al Malki.
Al Malki highlighted the accomplishments of the year, including the implementation of Qatar's National Incident Management Framework (NIMF), which aims to enhance readiness for potential cyber incidents at the national level. He also mentioned the launch of the National Cyber Crisis Framework and the National Institutional Cyber Crisis Management Framework, designed to improve the security and resilience of Qatar's cyber infrastructure.
The NCSA organized the 12th National Cyber Drill, which saw participation from over 170 critical entities, marking it as the largest of its kind globally. Additionally, Al Malki pointed out the successful hosting of the 4th Annual Cyber Governance and Assurance Conference, focusing on resilience through preparedness and innovation.
Regionally, Al Malki mentioned NCSA's significant involvement in various events, including Qatar's organization of the first joint Arab cyber drill under the Arab League, with participation from 21 Arab countries.
On the global stage, the NCSA maintained a prominent presence throughout 2025, participating in major international events and receiving numerous awards. A notable achievement was the high-level side event at the UN headquarters in New York during the Open-ended Working Group meetings, attracting a record number of participating countries.
Qatar's role in international cybersecurity dialogue was underscored by the launch of the 5G White Paper during MWC Doha 2025, highlighting the NCSA's commitment to innovation and digital infrastructure readiness. The agency also gained membership in the International Society of Automation (ISA), supporting its efforts to enhance cyber standards.
Al Malki stressed the agency's commitment to raising cybersecurity awareness across all community segments, including state officials, private enterprises, and various demographic groups, with targeted messages and campaigns like Cybersecurity Awareness Month in October.
Throughout 2025, the NCSA, via the National Cyber Security Academy, conducted numerous workshops to enhance individuals' cyber capabilities and provided training for IT professionals. The agency's primary goal is to foster a secure community adept at navigating technological advancements and elevating Qatar's global cybersecurity standing.
Al Malki concluded by affirming the agency's continuous efforts to secure cyberspace and ensure a safe digital environment in Qatar.
