Doha: The Ministry of Labour today signed a cooperation document with Ahli Bank, marking a significant milestone in advancing nationalisation and expanding opportunities for Qataris in the private sector. The agreement will deliver specialised training and professional development programmes for Qatari nationals and the children of Qatari women, equipping them with the skills needed to succeed in a competitive labour market.
According to Qatar News Agency, this partnership forms part of the Ministry’s wider collaboration with private sector “Partners in Success” to build a capable and competitive national workforce. By aligning training initiatives with the needs of key economic sectors, the agreement seeks to enable jobseekers to secure roles that match both market demand and personal aspirations.
Under the cooperation document, the Ministry and Ahli Bank will design and implement tailored programmes, with progress measured against clear performance indicators. These initiatives are intended to strengthen employability, enhance competitiveness, and contribute to Qatar’s sustainable economic growth.
Khames Mohammed Abdelrahman Al Naimi, Assistant Undersecretary for National Manpower Affairs in the Private Sector, described the agreement as “an exemplary model of collaboration between the Ministry and leading financial institutions, fostering a skilled national workforce that underpins a diverse and competitive economy in line with Qatar’s development strategies.” He added that Ahli Bank’s support reflects “the private sector’s strong sense of social responsibility and its active engagement in human capital development and workforce nationalisation.”
Hassan Ahmed Al Efrangi, Chief Executive Officer of Ahli Bank, reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to national talent development: “This cooperation document reflects our long-standing dedication to strengthening Qatar’s workforce. By investing in training, we are not only empowering individuals but also enhancing the efficiency and competitiveness of private-sector institutions. Contributing qualified national professionals to the market is both a civic duty and a national responsibility.”
Through this cooperation, the Ministry and Ahli Bank will expand training opportunities across priority sectors, preparing participants for meaningful careers and ensuring measurable results through structured monitoring. The Ministry reiterated its commitment to working with its “Partners in Success” across the public and private sectors to cultivate an effective and highly productive national workforce, aligned with Qatar’s private-sector nationalisation plan and the National Development Strategy for 2024-2030.
