Ministry of Education and Higher Education Concludes Orientation Sessions for Qatar Scientific Excellence Award

Doha: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education has successfully concluded the orientation sessions for the 19th edition of the Qatar Scientific Excellence Award, with a total of nine meetings conducted both at the ministry's headquarters and online.

According to Qatar News Agency, these sessions were aimed at all the award's target categories, including outstanding students at the primary, preparatory, and secondary levels, scientific research, university students, outstanding teachers, holders of master's and doctoral degrees, and outstanding schools. Iman Johar, chair of the judging committee for the primary stage, reported a significant turnout and noted that the discussions highlighted the readiness and meticulous preparation of the participants. She emphasized the participants' strong interest in the award and its role in fostering a culture of excellence and creativity among students.

Hessa Al Hammadi, who chairs the judging committee for the secondary stage, commented on the launch of the award's new identity, describing it as a representation of authenticity and excellence. She advised applicants to begin compiling their documentation early, specifically at the start of October. Al Hammadi also recommended using the award's official guide on its website as a primary reference for applicants and stakeholders.

Mona Al Kuwari, chair of the judging committee for the outstanding teacher category, remarked on the orientation meeting's productivity and interactivity, with numerous inquiries about the criteria for outstanding teachers. She highlighted that the new visual identity introduced in this edition reinforces the values of citizenship by connecting the award to its national roots. Al Kuwari also noted the introduction of new categories and the increase in financial rewards for outstanding teachers, which she believes will boost the number of applicants due to the award's esteemed scientific standing in society.

Applications for the Qatar Scientific Excellence Award will open on October 1, 2025, with the deadline for electronic submissions set for October 31, 2025. The results will be announced in December 2025, followed by the award ceremony on February 3, 2026.
