Ministry of Commerce and Industry Encourages Supplier Communication and Promotes Responsible Consumption

Doha: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has reached out to suppliers and retailers, urging them to communicate any observations or inquiries to improve market procedures and services. This initiative was announced through the ministry's hotline, 16001, aimed at fostering an environment of collaboration and efficiency.

According to Qatar News Agency, the ministry reiterated its dedication to maintaining open lines of communication with suppliers and retail outlets. The goal is to enhance the services offered by actively listening to feedback and addressing inquiries. In addition, the ministry reassured the public about the steady availability of goods and products in retail outlets throughout Qatar, emphasizing that consumer needs continue to be met effectively.

The ministry further advised the public to adhere to official guidance, urging them to purchase items based on actual needs to cultivate responsible consumption habits. It highlighted the risks associated with excessive stockpiling, warning that it could lead to spoilage due to lack of use, and stressed the importance of relying on official sources to avoid misinformation and unnecessary panic buying.

Furthermore, the ministry encouraged consumers to create shopping lists focusing on essential items and to diversify their shopping locations. This strategy is intended to help consumers make informed purchasing decisions, reduce the burden on individual retail outlets, and benefit from the variety of options available in the market.
