Doha: The Ministry of Awqaf (Endowments) and Islamic Affairs launched the “Live Fatwas AI” service on the Islamic network “Islamweb”, affiliated with the Department of Call and Religious Guidance.
According to Qatar News Agency, the launch was attended by HE Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Ghanem bin Shaheen Al Ghanem, and HE Undersecretary of the Ministry Dr. Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Ghanem Al-Thani. The service aligns with Qatar National Vision 2030 and the Third National Development Strategy, addressing the growing demand for immediate and accurate religious answers. It integrates with Islamweb’s extensive archive of fatwas.
The Ministry stated that the service facilitates direct communication with a specialized team of Islamic scholars. Utilizing artificial intelligence, it ensures a seamless user experience, providing immediate and accurate results while adhering to Islamic Sharia regulations and scientific oversight.
Jassim bin Abdullah Al Ali, Director of the Department of Da’wah and Religious Guidance, described this as a transformative moment in the history of fatwas. He reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to enhancing Islamweb’s mission, supporting it with technological advancements to disseminate reliable Islamic knowledge and facilitate fatwas.
He highlighted that the service acts as a modern bridge between Islamweb’s audience and scholars, improving immediate interaction and scientific accuracy. He praised the Ministry’s efforts in combining development with adherence to authentic methodology.
