Minister of Water Resources discusses with Arab organization challenges facing agriculture and water sectors

Minister of Water Resources Aoun Diab Abdullah discussed with the Director-General of the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development Ibrahim Al-Dakhir and the accompanying delegation the challenges facing the agriculture and water sectors.

The Minister of Water Resources stressed in a statement: “The importance of taking urgent measures to improve the agricultural sector as it is the largest consumer of water, pointing to the importance of enhancing cooperation between the organization and the ministry.

Minister Diab explained: “The ministry’s procedures aimed at shifting from open irrigation to closed irrigation and lining canals using concrete quilt technology and the government’s procedures to equip farmers with pivot irrigation systems.

For his part, the Director-General reviewed the organization’s tasks and objectives aimed at developing the agricultural sector in the Arab region.
