Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Engages with Syrian Transitional Justice Delegation

Doha: HE Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi engaged in a meeting with a Syrian delegation from the National Commission for Transitional Justice (NCTJ) and the National Commission for Missing Persons (NCMP). The delegation was led by NCMP Chairman Dr. Mohammad Reda Jalkhi and NCTJ Chairman Abdul Basit Abdul Latif.

According to Qatar News Agency, discussions during the meeting focused on the operations of the two commissions, emphasizing their role in strengthening comprehensive justice and accountability. The dialogue also highlighted the importance of supporting civil peace and exploring topics of mutual interest between Qatar and Syria.

HE the Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated Qatar’s commitment to supporting legal mechanisms that enhance transitional justice and accountability systems for crimes committed. The minister also emphasized Qatar’s support for global efforts aimed at achieving peace and stability, while drawing on successful experiences in the field of transitional justice.
