Minister of Labor Inaugurates Lusail University’s Third Career Fair

Lusail: HE Minister of Labor Dr. Ali bin Samikh Al Marri inaugurated on Wednesday the third career fair organized by Lusail University. The two-day event attracted participation from over 50 government and private employers across sectors such as education, energy, industry, finance, business, charitable organizations, and law firms. The event was also attended by HE Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Lusail University, Dr. Ali bin Fetais Al Marri.

According to Qatar News Agency, this year’s career fair coincided with the launch of a partnership between Lusail University and the “Oqool” recruitment platform, aimed at streamlining the recruitment process for private sector companies looking to hire university graduates in Qatar. During his tour of the booths, HE the Minister was briefed on the roles and opportunities offered by various entities, including training, qualification, and employment efforts to prepare graduates for the labor market.

Director of Student Life at Lusail University, Talela Thani Al Kuwari, emphasized the university’s commitment to providing students and graduates with opportunities to explore the job market, learn about summer training, and receive academic support. She explained that the university focuses on enhancing students’ educational and professional skills through workshops, training courses, and exhibitions. Al Kuwari highlighted that the entities at the fair provide opportunities aligned with students’ career goals.

The career fair featured awareness activities about the labor market, including information on in-demand majors and necessary skills. Workshops will be held to assist students in crafting professional CVs, equipping them with effective job application tools.

The event allows employers to engage directly with students and graduates, helping them identify promising talent. For attendees, the fair offers insights into career opportunities aligned with their interests and job market demands, enabling them to make informed career decisions. Additionally, students have the chance to participate in job interviews with officials from potential employers.
