Doha: HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force “Lekhwiya”, led the inaugural meeting of the Security Committee of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy at the National Command Centre (NCC). The session was attended by esteemed members of the committee from military and security sectors.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Ministry of Interior revealed that the meeting focused on developing security strategies to ensure the seamless execution of events hosted by the State. The objective is to maintain high readiness and ensure comprehensive coordination among the relevant authorities.
The committee evaluated the preparations underway for significant upcoming events, notably Qatar’s hosting of the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2025, the Formula 1 Qatar Grand Prix 2025, and the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025.
Furthermore, discussions included Qatar’s role in securing the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy and the FIFA World Cup 2026 in the USA. The meeting also reviewed the preparations involved in Qatar’s bid to host the 2036 Olympics, highlighting the nation’s ongoing commitment to international sporting events.
