Minister of Endowments Announces Strategic Plan for Religious Services in Qatar

Doha: The Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs has announced plans to implement a new strategic initiative aimed at enhancing the quality of religious services in Qatar. The 2025-2030 Strategic Plan will align with the Qatar National Vision 2030 and the Third National Development Strategy 2024-2030, as directed by HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Minister emphasized that the upcoming phase will focus on strengthening institutional governance and realizing a comprehensive digital transformation. The Ministry will build an integrated system to support innovation and employ advanced technologies, which will facilitate public access to services related to endowments, zakat, and da'wah through unified digital platforms.

The Minister reiterated that human development remains central to the Ministry's objectives, consistent with the National Day slogan, "with you it rises, and from you it awaits." Efforts will be made to localize positions of imams, preachers, and muezzins, and provide training to empower them as community leaders. Initiatives to strengthen national identity and Islamic values, with a focus on supporting women's religious activities, will continue.

The sustainability of endowments and zakat is a key focus, with plans to develop a system that enhances endowment returns to support social protection, health, and education. The Ministry will also expand mosque infrastructure to meet population growth and incorporate sustainable practices in operations.

In his concluding remarks to QNA, the Minister stated that the Ministry aims to be a distinguished government institution, blending tradition and modernity to build a cohesive and sustainable society committed to its identity and values, ready to face future challenges and achieve comprehensive development goals.
