Doha: The Department of Meteorology has warned of strong winds across inshore and offshore areas, with rough seas expected offshore.
According to Qatar News Agency, the daily forecast indicates that inshore conditions through 6:00 pm on Saturday will be relatively hot during the daytime, with a chance of slight to blowing dust in some areas at times. Offshore, conditions will be partly cloudy, with a chance of light rain in northern areas early in the day.
Winds inshore are expected to be northwesterly to northeasterly at 12 to 22 knots, with gusts reaching up to 28 knots in some areas during the day. Offshore winds will similarly be northwesterly to northeasterly at 8 to 18 knots, occasionally gusting up to 25 knots.
Sea conditions inshore will range between 2 and 4 feet, rising to 5 feet at times. Offshore seas will range from 3 to 5 feet, increasing to as much as 8 feet at times, creating potentially hazardous conditions for maritime activities.
Visibility inshore is predicted to range between 5 and 9 km, but it may drop to 3 km or less in some areas at times. Offshore visibility will range from 5 to 10 km, necessitating caution for seafarers.
