Lebanese Minister of Information Ziad Makari confirmed today, Monday, that his country is committed to the French-American initiative that stipulates a ceasefire. Makari said in a press statement, "We always believe that there is little hope on the diplomatic side because Lebanon is being bombed, and Beirut is being bombed every day, every night, for 24 hours, as well as the Bekaa, Mount Lebanon, and the South." The minister stressed that his country "relies heavily on France, much more than other countries. It also relies on the French-American initiative that was prepared in New York on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, and received the support of several parties such as the European Union, Britain, and others."
