Doha: Three personnel from the Kuwaiti armed forces were injured following the fall of fragments on Ali Al Salem Air Base when the air defense system had been engaging ballistic missiles and drones. The announcement was made by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense on Saturday.
According to Qatar News Agency, Col. Saud Atwan, spokesperson for the Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense, stated that military operations would persist in order to deter the ongoing attacks from ballistic missiles and drones. These operations are part of the defensive missions assigned to the armed forces to protect the State of Kuwait's airspace and sovereignty. He noted that the fragments caused mild injuries to three military personnel and some material damage, while assuring that the level of kinetic and combat readiness remains unaffected.
The Kuwaiti air defense system continues to counter these hostile attacks through a layered defense system, which highlights the readiness and combat capabilities of the armed forces. Col. Atwan emphasized the ongoing integration among various formations of the armed forces.
Col. Atwan also stressed that the Kuwaiti armed forces are on full alert to continue fulfilling their duties and managing any potential developments to ensure the security and stability of the nation. Earlier today, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health reported receiving 12 injuries in hospitals across the state due to the current regional situation.
