Kuwait Set to Host Key Arab Media Sessions Focused on Palestinian Support and Media Strategy

Kuwait city: The State of Kuwait is set to host the 104th Session of the Permanent Committee for Arab Media and the 22nd Ordinary Session of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Information Ministers. These sessions will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday, concurrently with the closing ceremony of "Kuwait Sound 'Arab Media Capital 2026."

According to Qatar News Agency, the sessions will focus on continuing media support for the Palestinian cause amid current developments. They will also address various initiatives aiming to advance joint Arab media efforts. Ambassador Ahmed Rashid Khattabi, the Arab League Assistant Secretary-General for Media and Communication, noted that the discussions will include reinvigorating the mechanisms of the Arab Media Action Plan Abroad, consolidating the phased plan for the media strategy to combat terrorism, and reviewing recommendations from the expert team on media and information literacy.

The agenda also covers implementing the media plan for addressing environmental issues and extreme climate fluctuations in the Arab world. It will highlight the Executive Programme of the Arab Media Roadmap for Sustainable Development 2030, and recommendations from the Arab Committee on Electronic Media. Further discussions include preparing a guiding law for regulating digital media, the practical plan for negotiations with international media companies, and recommendations from the Arab International Media Dialogue Forum. Additionally, the sessions will focus on adopting the theme for the 10th edition of the Arab Media Excellence Award concerning media and artificial intelligence.

These sessions are in implementation of the decision issued by the Council of Arab Information Ministers No. (579) during its 55th ordinary session held on November 26 at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab League in Cairo.
