New york: King Abdullah II of Jordan commended the global support for the two-state solution, stressing the necessity of halting any measures that threaten the viability of the two-state solution. This came in a speech he delivered on Monday evening at the UN General Assembly headquarters in New York, at the launch of the High-Level International Conference for the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution.
According to Qatar News Agency, King Abdullah II also emphasized the devastating level of bloodshed and destruction in Gaza, which is a blatant violation of international law and shared human values, and threatens the foundations of future peace. He underlined that the only path that guarantees lasting security in the Middle East and beyond is the two-state solution.
The Jordanian king urged the international community to act swiftly and collectively to restore hope, as efforts continue to bring an end to the conflict in Gaza.
