Astana: Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held discussions with Jordanian King Abdullah II, who is currently visiting Astana, to explore ways to strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation between Kazakhstan and Jordan. The meeting focused on enhancing diplomatic and economic ties between the two nations.
According to Qatar News Agency, the leaders also reviewed the current situation in the Middle East, with a particular focus on the developments in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. King Abdullah II emphasized Jordan’s position, urging for an end to the conflict in Gaza and calling for increased international efforts to address the humanitarian crisis. Moreover, he highlighted the risk of escalation in the West Bank and the importance of protecting Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
King Abdullah II expressed Jordan’s firm opposition to any attempts to occupy or annex land in Gaza or the West Bank and to the displacement of Palestinians. The discussions underscored the mutual commitment of both countries to regional stability and peace.
