Jordan’s Tourism Revenue Rises Despite July Dip; Petra Hit Hard by Gaza Conflict

Amman: The Central Bank of Jordan announced Wednesday that tourism income rose by 8.6% during the first seven months of 2025, reaching $4.398 billion. This growth came despite a 5.6% decline in July, when revenues totaled $721.4 million.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Jordanian Ministry of Tourism reported a 15.6% increase in visitor numbers during the same period, with nearly 4 million tourists compared to 3.4 million in the previous year.

Director General of the Jordan Tourism Board Abdul Razzaq Arabiyat recently stated that tourism in Jordan has nearly come to a standstill due to the Israeli aggression on Gaza. Petra, one of the country's most iconic destinations, has been particularly affected due to its reliance on European and American tourists.
