Jordanian and Chinese Foreign Ministers Discuss Regional Peace Efforts

Jordan: Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Al Safadi met Monday with his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, who is visiting Amman, to discuss ways to strengthen and develop the partnership between the two countries.

According to Qatar News Agency, during the meeting, the two ministers also discussed developments in Gaza and the West Bank. They emphasized the need to adhere to the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, ensure the entry of sufficient and sustainable humanitarian aid into Gaza, and link the achievement of stability to a clear political horizon that embodies an independent and sovereign Palestinian state within the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with international law and the Arab Peace Initiative.

Al Safadi stressed the need to halt the dangerous escalation and illegal Israeli measures in the occupied West Bank, as well as the ongoing violations of the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem and its holy sites.
