Jerusalem Governorate Condemns Mass Colonist Incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque

Jerusalem: The Jerusalem Governorate has condemned the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque by nearly 1,000 Israeli colonists on Tuesday under heavy protection from Israeli occupation forces, describing it as a continued attempt to impose a new reality at the holy site.

According to Qatar News Agency, the governorate stated that these incursions are part of an organized colonist plan led by extremist Temple Mount groups, which have direct support from Israel’s far-right government. This support provides political and legal cover for such actions.

The statement from the governorate highlighted that Israeli police had pre-announced the entry of six colonist groups into Al-Aqsa every 10 minutes. This move is described as unprecedented and is seen as a systematic effort to escalate the number of intrusions and enforce temporal and spatial division of the mosque.

Additionally, the governorate noted that the Old City and the mosque’s surroundings have been turned into a military zone. Restrictions have been placed on Palestinian worshippers, including access bans and roadblocks, particularly during Jewish religious holidays.

The governorate called on the international community, relevant UN bodies, and the Arab and Islamic worlds to take urgent action to stop what it refers to as serious violations of the historical and legal status of Al-Aqsa. They reaffirmed the mosque’s standing as an exclusively Islamic endowment.
